Angry Ion3 vs. Protege5

A member from the Saturnfans.com forum stated this:
"Ok, hold on a second here. I've driven both as well (when shopping around) and I can assure you, that where I took the ION around a HWY merging ring at 60MPH, the PR5 almost flew off the road at 55MPH...ALL in the same day, and on the same ring. No bull. "

I own both an Ion and a PR5, and I can reasonably conclude that my stock Protege outhandles the stock Ion anyday anytime... I know it for a fact since I drive both cars almost on a daily basis. What do you (Protege forum members) think about this??

Hey now... My mom drives a saturn... It's not a new ion, but it is an '02 or '03 I believe... It handles WELL, but not as well as my first gen, and I doubt as well as the 3rd gens.

Cool

Yes sir! I have a new Ion too and I KNOW FOR A FACT that my Protege5 AND my A4 as well WILL OUTHANDLE any Ion on any road anyday... (the Ion is wife's car - she's not a track freak like me with my PR5 and A4).

Cool

My A4 1.8 Turbo Quattro has the optional Sport Package option (Sport Suspension, 17" wheels with 45 series rubber) so this package along with the A4's turbo and Quattro chassis makes it feel like you're on rails like a roller coaster. This thing hugs and hugs the road quite noticeably more than my PR5. The PR5 is still an excellent hadling car but the Audi takes the whole handling + power combo to the next echelon... I love driving both cars... the A4 to battle its German counterparts, and the PR5 to challenge its other compact competitors.

Protege5 = Zoom x2
A4 = Uncompromising!

Wow, that kinda sucks... My parents are real saturn-fans... The buying experience is great, they haven't had one problem with them yet (on the third new one), they're just good cheap transportation... I think they're going to get a Vue in the fall...

I think saturn needs some new designers, hehehe

I don't qualify clapping (from the sales reps) as part of a great buying experience. It can only be a great buying experience if you're buying a great car.

You should drive a Land Rover Freelander, smallest damn gauges ever. I had to put on my glasses to tell how fast I was going.

Only people I know that own Saturns are morons anyway. One is my stepsister, who is a dumbass, and the other is a coworker, who is just as big of a dumbass. He had issues with his Saturn pulling to the left, took it to the dealership multiple times and they couldn't fix it. After the 5th or 6th time they told him it was a "feature" to help you merge onto the freeway. Then the idiot went back and bought another one (spent over 20k for the base version, whatever it was called). He got a funny look on his face when he saw my Protege, paying 5k more for less stuff (and a domestic to boot) tends to do that to people I guess. Saturn's no hassle no haggle philosophy just means you are going to get royally screwed, but at least you know the next guy that buys one was just as screwed .

Thumbs down saturn = junk's big junk

saturns are GM's ugly step son that no one wants to talk about.

no office to any of you GM fans, but really, GM cars are junk.
some a-hole in a CTS wanted to race my wrx so i gave him
wat he wanted... i didnt even have to try that hard. completely
blew him away. there's no way that car is going to be
a 3 or 5-series contender.
