I don't know if any of you have had this problem or not, but here's the deal. I live in Goldsboro, NC. Not the snow capital of the world by any means. Well, we had about 6 or so inches last week and the roads turned to crap. Well, I washed my car today and to my horror, my 4 month old Polished wheels on my P5 are scratched all to hell. I just put some Meguiars all metal restorer on them and got most out, but the deep ones are still there (around the center for some reason). So if you haven't had this problem, be careful in the snow...maybe you all will be luckier than I was.

I got the snow as well here in Hampton VA and my wheels were scratched as well...I am pissed. How do you like the intrax springs? I was thinking of them or the eibachs but not sure which ones i want.

I've heard ppl warn about that. But they said that it was due to the flying sand and road salt that gets dumped onto the road. But if you guys got the deep into the snow, then I doubt it's cuz of the road salt/sand.

Are the scratch marks generally moving in a circular fashion? If so then it's probably due to the ice constantly scraping at the wheels. I can't imagine it'd be good for your paint job either. Hope you're waxed up.

thx for the warning.. our snow has come and gone.. for now. I'll be sure to put my snows back on in February/March when it usually snows here again.

I wish i had gotten this warning earlier before the 7 feet of snow here in Buffalo. I guess I'll check out my rims in the morning. Thanks for the warning though

I really like the intrax springs....quite a bit more than the H&R's I had on my 99 ES. The H&R's did ride a lot better, but the handling was not that much better than stock. I heard Eibachs are bouncy...which is true about the Intrax. They ride rough, but I'm used to my dad's Miata so it's okay. But the car handles so much better. If I get the money for the MP3's suspension, I think it'll get a whole lot better.

If my warning did anyone any good, then I did my job as a good samaritan (sp?). I was able to get most of them out but there are still a few left.
Also, if your car is lowered, beware the ground effects. I have a few scratches...one deep, in my ground effects from running over icy chunks of snow.

Close to 12" here in Hampton, VA luckily I also have a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo to do all the driving on the snow and left the Pro on the driveway (and they said that SUV's are worthless. ).
