Lightbulb Ideas..

At the moment I have absolutely NOTHING done to my car.. It's completely stock.. One of my friends gave me his red neons, so I might put those in.. Hopefully I'll get around to that soon.. But.. I'm trying to decide whether or not I'd be better off working on getting my kit or my intake first.. Any ideas?

The first mods that I usually will start with are performance. the body kit and so forth can wait...just my opinion.

I'm very reluctant to do any mayor "performance" mods to my car, I just don't feel comfortable messing with the engine. But I like my car to be unique so I invest into sound system, interior and exterior mods.

Maybe Ill get a CAI and a cat back exhaust but that's it.

who says he feels obligated to mod his car? just because you dont like to mod yours doesn't mean he is the same way. he was mearly asking for people opinion's on what he should do first. if it was me i would go for the intake, and exhaust. and work from there, i would rather have my car be fast, than have it look fast and be slow. but that just me. good luck with your car.

There isnt a "Rule of Mods" or anything. Its all up to the driver of the PRO. Some people go performance some go looks and some go with one or the other. In my opinion man. Make your car look good first. Cause your noticed and remembered (for having the best car in town) then go performance. Cause you can have the fastest car out there but if it looks like a piece of *!#%$ (like a focus, or any type of honda) I wouldnt drive it. Thats my opinion man. Do whats right for you money wise and respect wise. Oooh yeah . "Welcome to the Forum" the greatest spot for a Protege Owner. L8trz.

I'm not out to customize my car to show off.. I want to do it simply because I want to. I like cars and I like doing things to them.. It's as simple as that. I'm not going to sit there and do things to my car to show off. Who cares if I impress anyone. I honestly don't care about that.. I have a black '02 protegé es w/ sports trans.. I just think it's really vanilla leaving everything stock.. Idk.. That's just my opinion.. And plus, it gives me something to play with.. And 1 minor thing.. he's a she.. lol Thanks for the welcome

I'm probably just going to end up getting the intake 1st.. The only problem there is that now I need to decide if I want a CAI.. I'll probably just go for it.. I probably will..

Definately go for a new intake first. This will definately help with the increase of air flow to your engine. The reason why I suggest modding the engine is that I like the feel when I press on the gas and the car pushes me into the seat...I love torque!

Well said saided18...HP would be a great addition to our protege's. I would not mind an additional 20 to 30 additional horses, but unforturnately I want to save up for my beemer or lexus that I may get in the next 2 years or so....(hopefully sooner)...

But considering that I do more city driving then highway...torque is the that I am going....especially around the sharp corners we have in Seattle.

jERZEY

JERZEY CITY RIGHT HERE.....BUT ANYWAYZ I WENT FOR A MIX OF LOW COST PERFORMANCE MODS SUCH AS IRIDIUM SPARK PLUGS AND SPARK PLUG WIRES(YOU REALLY FEEL THE DIFFERENCE IN ACCELERATION) AN INJEN CAI AND A MESS OF INTERIOR MODS PLUS AN INTERIOR PAINT JOB. GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME RIGHT NOW AND THERE'S NO HOLES IN MY WALLET EITHER
