I need rear end pics of PR5

Hello all. I need a huge favor...does anyone have pics of their PR5 from the back? I recently got my car out of the body shop from an accident -- I believe that the decklid isn't properly aligned (looks as if it's not completely shut), and the mechanic thinks it's perfectly aligned.

We've decided to get pics from a PR5 that has not been in a collision to compare to...Unforunately since he has my car right now I can't get over to a Mazda Dealership to snap some pics. If any of you can post some pics of your PR5's backside, with focus on the area where the decklid meets the tail light and main body, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey!! Thanks for the speedy reply! Yes, that's a great reference photo. I've circled the areas in question on my car, if you have any photos that show those areas closer up in detail that would be awesome. Then the mechanic can definately tell whether or not I'm being paranoid. In your photo, all of your edges look seamless, whereas on mine the decklid is slightly popped up from the rest of the rear end.

You are the man!

Wow. You have a shitload of pics up there. 2 questions:

1) Are the '03 and '02 models identical with the body design?
2) Can I show the mechanic your site so he can see all the angles of the rear you've shot?

Both of you guys have impressed me alot. Thanks!

I have an even BETTER suggestion for you....get to the body shop....put the mechanic in YOUR car....drive over to your dealer...and compare them side by side...first hand...no pictures....then there will be NO question....and you can SHOW the guy exactly what you are talking about...and he will not be able to deny any differences.

Go for what SEA_P5 said if you've got a Mazda dealer nearby. After my accident I did the same thing to show the shop they had the front bumper mounted wrong. Fortunatley the Mazda dealer was just down the street.

Or heck, just go test drive a new P5 and bring it to the repair shop

you mean what sir nuke said

and yeah that would be the best thing....or getting a friends P5 over to the bodyshop so that he can see it.....then the next best thing would have to be pictures

Great job with all the photos guys! The one thing that's baffling me is the perceived difference in the gap along the decklid. For instance, SEA's looks seamless where Red's looks like mine -- a noticeable gap.

Maybe mine is okay and I'm just weirding out.
