White, 5 speed with roof...no other options. I'm putting $500 down plus the trade in of my 01 Acura EL. Not really a trade in but the dealer is buying off the lease and I'm sure they can sell it with some profit. Total for each month with tax is $313. Is this a good deal?

Planning to tint the windows ASAP...then it'll be a K&N drop in, B&M shifter and hood bra. I'm still trying to decide whether I should go with the magnetic bra or those clear bra. Clear bra looks better but I'm not sure about spending $300+ for that.

I put 1500 down and I got a red p5 with polished rims and I pay 334 a month. I only pay 2.9 finance also. I say you got a hell of a deal.

dude, personally, you are getting a shaft in the butt. i don't know what you pay in taxes on a lease, but i wouldn't get a lease, especially if you plan on modding it. modifying a lease car is like paying for your friend to modify his car. you get to drive it, but in the end it is still his car. how many months is your lease? i would think with that payment, you are at 48 or so? way too long for a lease. what about milage limits? what is your buyout option price after lease term ends? i bought my protege es (us model) with 0% for 48 months and my payments with $0 down are $340 month. of course, just my $.02

I know I'll get screw over just because I'm trading in a one year old car. But I'm just trying to minimize my loss.

The lease is 48 months and we pay 15% tax up here in Canada. So $313 CAD equals to $171 USD before tax per month. And that's 6.64% interest. We don't get 0% here (even if you are financing)...but something like 1.9%.

I know it's a lease car but I'll be driving it for the next 4 years. Since I'm only doing bolt-on mods I guess I can always change it back to stock. The only thing is the B&M SS...don't know how difficult it'll be to get it back out cuz all the instructions say you have to force it in.

If you decide you really like the pro you can always buy out the lease at the end

I didn't realize you were leasing . Leasing to me is just a bad idea, But then Again I put way to many miles on my car, plus I don't like the idea of giving back a family member. And 15% tax , holy ****. I live in flordia and we pay 6.5 . I need to remember to check where people are from. Canadian $ vs. us and kil. vs. mph. So confused am I

I know tax sucks. I'm already paying 27% income tax on my pay cheque every month. After that we gotta pay 15% sales tax for every dollar we spent.

But what sucks even more is I have to get rid of my 1 year old POS Civic. SUCKS!!!

I wouldn't be leasing my car if I had the money, but I didn't have money to finance it.

I'm leasing mine too. The bottom line for me is that I want to drive a new car with a warranty all the time. I'm going to continue to lease and roll the car over every 3 years (1 year before the lease is up) selling it privately. This way I get a new car every 3 years or so, and never have to worry about the thing breaking down, avoid the high cost servicing (96K). And I am paying for this advantage (the difference between leasing and straight financing).

And if I really want a car to mod, I'm thinking about a 2nd gen RX-7 as a project car down the road.

Leasing isn't for everyone that is for sure. But for what I want, and my situation it works.

Jay

Hey noodle...was your Civic on a lease or you bought it out at the beginning? What's the mileage when you trade it in? The 2001 Civic are actually worth less than a similarly equipped/mileage 2000 model on the market....again because of the known poor reliability. I'm surprise they gave you that much for it.

I assume you must be leasing your P5? Not sure about Vancouver but in Toronto you can't put more than 20% down payment when you lease. Any more than that they'll make you finance it.

I was leasing my Acura as well. And guess what, my EL only worth 16500 and that's the highest blackbook value. The dealer gave me that cuz my car is in good shape.
