I've heard here that some with the 1.6 engines are not very durable at period of 3-4 years, lots of sensors break down. Any truth to those with 1.6 engine?

The sensors I am talking about is MAF Sensor, Crankshaft sensor, camshaft sensor and throttle sensor.

Some also say that the ignition coil also breaks down at that short span of time.

 

well i have about 70,000 on my 2000 1.6L and have had it about 3.5 years and it is 100% reliable...I have never had any issues with my car at all....trust me this is a VERY reliable car

 

i have 90k on mine bought it brand new 2/99 no problems with the car. i do have to replace 2 motor mounts, but i drive the car hard.

 

i have 85k on mine, with really no problems, the only problems were from me beating the **** out of it. and yes the maf has been know to **** the bed, but its under recall, so you pay nothing.

 

Im having some sensor problems myself.
Specificly the trottle posision one, gotta take it to a dealer to be sure though.

Nothing major though, still runs good.
