Hey protege52nr,
Where did you put your Blue LED light on? The front signal lights?
How do they look like?
Do you have a pic for it?

I am thinking about buying those too.

on top of the $18K out the door price on the P5,

$199 for eibach pro kit
$180 for 35% tint all around
$196 for injen intake
$80 spring installation

for a total of $655 to date.

summer upgrades:

2way alarm: ~$450
JIC catback: ~$600

i have allocated $2000 for the car, so as of right now, i'm under budget by about $300! woo hoo!

if i decide later on to do more upgrades, i'll get:
rims: ~$1000 for some rotas with rubbers
turbo: ~$3500 from either spoolin or fmprotege

but if i get a turbo, wouldn't i have to get a new intake and exhaust?

so my total price on the car would be about $25K... and for that money, i am SURE i can take out a stock $25K wrx.

The intake side of things will come with the turbo kit, however a larger exhaust (2.5") would certainly help.

Not very likely. There are MANY things you are forgetting about that you should think of first. First of all, your stock clutch won't stand up to the kind of power necessary to "take out a stock wrx" So add another $400 for the clutch plus at least $200 for the install (unless if you know how to do it yourself). While you're in there, you may as well throw in a lighter flywheel for a faster reving engine (tack on another $400). Also while you're in there, you will want to install an LSD ($400 for the MSP or $1200 for a Quaife). You will need an LSD to come close to matching the launch power of an AWD WRX, after all.

It's important to note that most piggyback computer controllers won't work very well if you're really turning up the boost, so lets throw in another $1000 for a stand-alone engine management system.

You will need better brakes to compensate for all that power (stoptech anyone?), so how about another $2000 with install.

Lets go right off the deep end and put some JIC FLTA2 Coilovers on so that you can go fast in the corners as well as in a straight line ($1650)

Then there's the boost gauge, blow-off valve (included in some kits), turbo timer (extends the turbo's life), boost controller, etc... Not to mention more frequent and more expensive oil changes (good idea to use synthentic oil with a turbo).

Not all, but most of these things are necessary for you to pull a 5.7 second 0-60, and a 14-second quarter mile.

I'm not saying that you can't just turbo your car as it is, but don't expect to be beating any WRXs (at least not the ones that are trying).

Truly amazing that people have spent all this money on aftermarket parts for their Proteges! I was under the impression that these cars were just good daily drivers , but it appears that they can be much, much more!
