Talking hi! new board member/p5 owner and a question

Hi!!! my name's ian (can you tell? ), and i'm a new mp5 owner/board member...well actually i registered and bought my car about a month ago around memorial day but didn't start driving it until mid-june and was mostly lurking on this board, which is really cool because everybody seems pretty nice. it was so cool, i was actually looking for a corolla s for several months, but the prices were way too high for what it was. so i waited for mem. day sales, and by chance i found the mp5 for only $14k!!! woohoo! so as you can see, we got that instead right away :-D it was a hella good deal, considering those corolla s's were about 15,5.

all i have to say is...ZOOM-ZOOM! haha, it's been nothing but fun and the good comments just keep on comin, lol...it's also my first manual drive car (my friend taught me in his integ), so you know how cocky you feel when you first learn and get the hang of it, haha..

well anyway here's my question: i've recently bought a magnet bra, but i'm having a little trouble with it; i can't seem to put it on without little open spaces appearing by the parts of the hood that curve inward, so i was wondering if anybody had some tips with putting it on...thanks again!!! :-D

HEY! I'm an "Ian", too! We're not the most common breed, are we?

Anyway - welcome to the board. As far as your question - I do not have this bra, but I remember reading that it is much easier to install if you let it sit in the sun for a while before putting it on - the heat gets it nice and flexible, and even expands the material, making it very slightly "larger".

Good luck - and I wonder just how many P5 owners there are named "Ian" in the world......what color did you get?

Ian, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net. There is a BIG fridge in the corner with just about anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGEALLY have. :{D

make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!! :{D

When I first put my Magnetbra on I had the same problem, so I cleaned the water and a bit of sand out of those spaces then left it on until a hot, sunny day and readjusted it one side at a time when it was nice and hot. Haven't had any problems since.

Hi Ian

Welcome to the board. Hope you have a pleasant stay. So sorry I cannot help with your magnetic bra as I had the invisible rock guard put on. Personally I like it better as it does not change the look of the front end of the car.
Just wanted to welcome you to our little world.
