do you actually drive your classic Z car as your daily driver?

I saw a 1972 240Z in MINT condition a while back, it is a very beautiful car

well, it's sorta my daily driver, it runs better then my other car (the fattest POS ever)
it's a little bit of a pain to start at 8 in the morning on a cold day but other then that it runs pretty good and is fun to drive (and loud! ) But yea, its a cool car ( im thinking about using it for autoX but havn't decided yet)

whatever you do DO NOT SELL IT!!!! Give it a few more years, keep it in good shape, it'll be a collectors item! (if it's not already one!)

I read that Datsun used the Jaguar E-Type and the Porsche 911 as inspiration for the styling of the original Fairlady Z.
They hit it on the head IMO! The 240z was the first real Japanese sportscar to sell well in North America, and they're becoming collectable FAST! Oh, yeah. Nice choice on the Protege, too.

Hi Z me Pro and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to our Club. There are TWO BIG fridge'S in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have.

make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

if you are truely waiting on a car to ship from japan.....it will be a few months....

I am surprised that your dealer couldn't use their car locator and actually find you one like the one you wanted.....

I already ordered the car, it is on the Febuary build schedual so it may have already been built as of right now, i ordered it because the dealer did a search and there were zero cars like the one i wanted in california, so, i decided just to order it

Is it cheaper and more convenient to order instead of going to the dealership?

I'm seeing more and more ppl I know ordering.

No and no.

Cheaper? Well, you'll pretty much pay whatever the dealer tells you to. You have no leverage, the car's not sitting on their lot and they're not motivated to sell it to you. You will typically get a smaller discount by ordering than by buying a car that's already there (if you get any discount at all.)

More Convenient? How could it be? You can drive off the lot with any car already there or you can wait months for it to be built.

About the only reason would be to get a rare car or rare combination of options, but these days, the rare cars don't tend to be desirable (they tend to be at the bottom end of the price range.)
