Hey everyone
Hey everyone
I don't have a Protege yet, but i hope to get one soon. That is if I can't find a 2000 or 2001 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS 4-door manual in either blue, black, or red. I'm thinking that I definately won't find one when I am ready to purchase a vehicle, so chances are I'm getting a Protege5. Right now I own a 1997 Mazda B2300 SE. I've been ready to get rid of it and get another car, but I don't have much money with school going on. The only other vehicle I've owned (I'm only 19), which of course was my first, was a 1988 Mazda RX-7 GXL.
Well, I just wanted to say hi.
P.S. If anyone in the Kentuckiana area wants to give me their Protege5, I will gladly accept. I would prefer a yellow one with a manual transmission and maybe a sunroof and side-impact airbags.

Hello Dan and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to our Club. There are TWO BIG fridge'S in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have.
make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.
Welcome!!
what the heck is up with you people out there......as of right now...there are 30 views of our new members post and I am the first to say welcome?

Cuz it's so dead here. No honestly. Some great great posts, but it's not so lively here. I can come back a week later and the same old posts are still around and nothing really new cept new member posting that they're new.
I used to drive a civic and i still post on the civic forum. Less members yet new posts all the time.
I posted a problem i had yesterday - yes i searched and there was like 50+ views and ZERO replies. Wuts up with that?
Anywayz i found out what the rumbling sound was and it was a broken bracket that held the ractive intake and now it's flinging all over the place.
bleh..

We're afraid to post.
We're afraid of being called morons.
We're afraid that everyone will tell us to use the search button or to read the FAQ.
Other than that, it's great here!
Welcome aboard.

funny you ask....I traded my 00RS 4dr for my 02.5 P5 and have no regrets at all. In NE my P5 survived a pretty tough 1st winter well heavy snow, cold. I found the fit and finish better on the P5, the ability to haul things (rear seats don't go down in RS), and as a former Subaru was disappointed in the fact I had to bring it back to dealer for variety of issue: loose windows, poss wheel bearings (known suby issue), and trim pieces......the 97-01 RS's are damn good lookin cars!and AWD is cool!
whats up Dan,
my name is Brian. i live right across the bridge in new albany.
welcome aboard!
where do you plan on purchasing a protege at?
i know a really sweet girl that sold me mine at bluegrass mazda that wont try busting your head. if you get one and or want to hook up pm me sometime.
i know at least 6 guys with pro's that are going to hook up sometime for a group pic, but i have yet to find one person who drives a protege 5. they all seem to be middle or older age women.
whatever you do good luck, and welcome!

welcome, hope you decide on that p5, they're sweet to ride, handle very nicely, and you can feel the mazda...eh, whatever, it's a good car
. and once you go mazda, you should stay mazda, simple as that. no recalls that people really complain much about or any at all that i know of. good gas mileage, good passenger capacity and very sporty for a wagon. key guidelines i've learned here, 1) search before you ask... 2) no question is too stupid so as long as it hasn't been asked 85 million times before ... 4) any thing pertinent to cars gets posted in the appropriate areas of the forum, and stupid griping takes place in the Off-Topic section... 5) Caps-lock is a good sign of ignorance or lazieness 6) yes hondas aren't the nicest cars out there, but no rice jokes.. too over played... 7) RICE is an outlawed term, it really has no boundaries and is retarded, so no rice comments... 8) rice is a food product grown on 6 continents and goes very good with fried vegetables... 9) no instant/1 or 5 minute uncle ben's rice is to be used in this forum... 10) ignore me if you don't understand what substance i could be on at the given time of any particular post
either than that, have a good one, hope you get the pro5, and welcome
peace

Thanks guys.
I'm not sure where I will get my P5 Brian. I usually deal with Bluegrass for all my Mazda needs. I did go out to Huffman on Dixie Hwy to test drive a 2000 Impreza RS that they had, and I almost bought it, but it was an automatic. I will probably try and go private party, as I don't have a whole lot of money. I will keep Bluegrass in mind if I do decide to get a new one though, or if they have a nice used one there.
See ya later.
