d'you mean you broke the glove compartment? i don't see how you could break the dashboard itself and how you would store your registration inside your dashboard

haha ... exactly what I was thinking.

you just have to play around with the glove box, happens on my friends car all the time. just gotta jiggle it and hit it and if that doesn't work get a hammer.

Did you maybe lock it by mistake? (glovebox - not the center console box).

TO make sure we are all on the same note it is the glovebox right in front of the passenger side. Im pretty sure that it can't lock. I have never locked it and I dont recall it ever being able to. Its a 99 LX. Thanks if anybody can help me cuz this is serious.

If it is really a serious trauma, take it up to the dealership.

are you certain beyond certainty that it doesn't lock? most proteges I have seen have a little keyhole near the glovebox handle, even my cousin's old gen 1 had it... you may have locked it by accident

The 99/00 models didn't have the locking glovebox...that was added for 01.

If I recall, there should be two screws at the very bottom of the glove box that you should still be able to get to. Take them out and it should come loose. I've only taken out my glovebox once and it was to see if there was anywhere to put my underdash neons, so I could be wrong. Worth a try.
