Hello!! New member Just got a MSP

Hi everyone, I just purchased a spicy orange mazdaspeed protege. I pick it up this saturday. I can hardly wait. I'm from the ford focus world, I had a heavily modded zx3 but I was getting bored with it. I was looking in to buying a used wrx, or a golf 1.8t for my next car but fell in love with the msp when I went to the dealer.
I noticed that they're are several reports of wrecked msp's already! You can count on me not to be one of those people. I'm going to baby this car.
Anyways, just popping in to say hi hopefully I can meet some new friends here. Thanks

Bryan

I am really glad to hear this, I really don't feel like reading about another wrecked msp.

Hello Tewkes and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to our Club. There are TWO BIG fridge'S in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have.

make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

picked it up yesterday

I picked it up yesterday as soon as the dealer opened. I haven't driven it a lot yet cause there's snow and salt all over the roads here in Michigan. I'm driving my zx3 till the snows gone then I'm selling it and driving the MSP everyday. So far I love it!! Everyone is surprised by the color of it. It's a lot brighter in person. I don't wanna drive it hard till it's broken in, but I can already tell that it has some *****. I'm still trying to figure out the radio. Damn this thing has a lot of functions on it, lol. Anyways, hopefully spring comes soon so I can start to drive it more.
Thanks for the replys everyone, I already feel welcome! I don't want to be dumb like some of the svt owners are to the focus crowd, and think they are better than everyone.
P.S. I'll try and get some pics up as soon as it stops snowing.
Peace

Bryan

you speak the truth!!!

can anyone tell me what the MP3 function does on the radio...i dont get what it is supposed to do...i burn my own CD's and they work on every other CD player...what is so special about one that plays "MP3's"?

i love the car guys! i have had it one day and i already put on 150 miles!! it is no RX-7 but it is the best car for the money...and oh so fun to drive

Ok an MP3 is a computer file. If you have music on your comp. its going to be most likely and MP3 file. MP3,s as files are a lot smaller than a song on a cd they take lots and lots LESS space so you can have like 200+ songs on one disk. You have to know a little about computers to burn mp3's but since you said you burn your own music it should not be a problem for you. to make an MP3 file you take a regular song and "rip" it to mp3 most new computers have a program already for doing this (the new real play i thinkwill do it) I know what i am saying probly makes no sence and i know i left lots out. i know how to do it but its hard for me to explain. NEXT PERSON PLEASE EXPLAIN BETTER

When you're burning your own CDs currently, whatever software you're using is making them audio CDs. This allows 74 or 80 minutes of music (depending on the CD you use.) With an MP3 player, you can burn your MP3s to it as a data CD and fit 650 or 700 megabytes of MP3s, so it could be the equivalent of 10 CDs or so.
