I still miss my auto 1/2 the time.. So much easier.

 

how taught you how to drive stick?? I still need to learn. lol Was it easy learing it?

 

I kind of taught myself. My friend came over after I had the car 30 minutes and by then I could already get it into first with out stalling.

 

The best way to learn how to drive stick is go out by yourself. It's usually not much help when there is someone barking orders at you, plus there is less pressure. A nice back road or parking lot is a great place to learn the basics. Once you have those down, you can concentrate on making it more smooth. I'd go crazy if I had to drive auto all day long

I also had thought about trading...but I'm afraid my payments will go up more!!!

 

learning to drive stick takes only a day. It's the IMPROVING that takes a while. after say 2 -3 months it's like reciting the alphabet.

 

yeah you'll be able to get around town once you can start from a stop. After a couple weeks I was able to drive without stalling at all. THen i stalled once in a parking garage and felt like a dummy

$339 6 years on MSP (with 6 years 24-hour road side, I bought the 3 year wheel / tire warranty for $350 at the dealer in cash)

Insurance went up $20 a month.

So basically $40 extra a month for a car that's pretty much "done" as I see it. Not with my P5 that I was always saying "I WANT TO UPGRADE THIS, GET NEW THAT, etc."


Note, this is with zero down and I was upside down 3 large on my P5. Wham!

 

I am too used to mashing the gas like in my P5. So when I let go of my clutch I get a bit of wheel spin and a churp. I really need to cut that out.

 

That's exactly how I learned to drive stick real quick. I just kept visualizing when I was driving my old car.

But, I've never rode one!

 

I learned to drive a stick on a '78 pickup truck with a three speed. You had to put the clutch through the floor before it would engage, but anything else after that was easy.

 

Only way to learn is to practice by yourself.

 

you mean when you ease the clutch out, right?

Once you can do normal starts in your sleep you'll be able to do them faster. Eventually faster than an automatic flooring it when you can use the clutch to get the tires near their limit though much of first gear
