Growling noise during accel...
I noticed for the first time today that when I step down on the gas pedal and accelerate from a stand still, there's a growling noise that goes along with it.
I can't exactly tell where it's from and it's not very loud. Iit sounds more like it's from the rear, or maybe underneath me and more on the passenger side, but I guess it could be from under the hood (difficult to tell). I do not hear it if I'm in D and coast from a stand still or coast while driving, nor do I hear it while in reverse and step on the pedal (I think).
My 2002 is approaching 50k miles and has so far been trouble free.
any ideas appreciated

Looks like I need to check the tranny fluid....
Yes, it does it while driving, as you said, 30 or so and step on it. But also from a stand still too. I listened closely to it today and it wasn't always noticable, maybe only 30% of the time.
So maybe the tranny fluid is a bit low. I'll check that tomorrow in the daylight...
