Cool Getting a new P-5 :-)

I'm going to get a new P-5 soon.
Want to ask for opinions as to whether I should take the extended warranty (Mazda recommended one) & anti-rust / permanent shine packages? It costs almost Cdn$700 to do warranty & anti-rust...
Should I take the dealer's package or should I find some third-party garage to do the anti-rust?

Mazda recommends an extended warranty because put simply they rape more money from you that way. One more feather for that salesman's cap. I would shop around for the corrosion protection stuff, that is if you really feel you need it. More than likely it will have to be redone every few years to be effective.

I took the dealers extended warranty to be on the safe side. You never know what can happen. I rather pay a little more now than a lot later.

I went with the 100K mile warranty as well. I have had experience with Auto Trannys blowing up and don't want to worry about that repair expense in the first 5 years I own my car. (I put around 20k miles a year on my car) Not too mention with the extended warranty I got just about everything else on the car is covered for the full 100k miles.

For me I was able to include it in my monthly payment and still keep the payment under the goal I set.

Does the extended warranty cover alot of things that are really risky (easy to break, expensive to repair)?

Like I said, it covers just about anything that could break on the car.

Cool Thanks alot!
I've read it on earlier posts that you'll have to follow your dealer's maintenance schedule to have the extended warranty valid though... Is it true?
