Unhappy gas mileage car audio correlation

whats up fellas.

Well here is my dilemma. . . Ever since I installed my system a couple months ago i have noticed that i have been getting about 50-60 miles less per tank. One of my friends suggested that maybe it had to do with my system and the amount of electricity it uses etc. DOes anyone have any ideas on why i could be getting worse mileage? I currently run the following: jl audio 500/1, 12'' w6v2, monster 1farad cap, clarion vrx925vd, gamecube, power inverter, and some switches to turn on fans to cool the amp and cap. I used to average about 300 miles at the 3/4ths mark. you guys have any suggestions?

I dont think that having an audio system can affect gas mileage by that much.. unless you are carrying alot more weight because of the system( could be possible by the looks of your system.).. as well during the winter months gas stations use a different formulation for cleaner emissions but its gives worse fuel economy(at least thats how it is in vancouver).. so it might just be the different gas formulation.. have you checked tire pressures? or did u also change to larger or wider tires/wheels? .. those can affect gas mileage as well..

another POSSIBLE solution is now that you have a good system...you are listening to your music more aggressivly...its making you feel better....maybe even pumpin you up a bit as you cruise.....causing you to drive more aggressively.....decreasing your mileage.

not to mention.....300 miles on 3/4 of a tank of gas in not BAD mileage. if your gas gage is fairly accurate you are getting 27.5 MPG....not shabby at all.

just running around town and back and forth to work now and then.....I get about 24 miles per gallon....so that would be about 240-250 miles at 3/4's.....if I do all or nearly all highway driving....I can get anywhere from 300 to 320 miles....

Damn I usually get like 220-250 at the 3/4 mark, and on a full tank 260-300, but RARELY 300. But thats not to mention that I drive like a crazy bastard. I dont know about you guys but I HAVE to floor the pro because its so slow, and not to mention it sounds nice cuz of the deep exhaust. I also got a system though....

I get about 240-300 with 3/4 tank of gas. I average any where from 22-25 mpg with my normal kind of aggressive driving. I keep the engine running hard. I do a lot of stop and go driving with my normal driving. I get around 30 mpg when driving on the highway with a good load in the car and skies on the roof. We will see how the milage runs when I have my kayaks on the car this summer. I will expect to get 25 mpg on the highway. Thats what I averaged with my 01' ES2.0 the last summer.

LOL, I get the same mileage, about 260 per tank. It seems like everyone thinks I'm racing them when in reality....I'M JUST TRYING TO KEEP UP!!! lmao...

Lol, tell me about it. The exhaust sounds like you are trying to race. I just got home tonight and this big *** expedition spanked me so hard; i wasnt even trying to race! Then earlier I was whopping this A4 on the highway, but then a straightaway came and he just raped me, hard. I didnt even try to keep up, he was at least at 120; I just went back to the speed limit.
