How about the "Fun factor?" I don't know about anyone else, but I CAN'T keep my foot outta the accelerator on my car. It's just too much fun. I get around 24-26 mpg with a manual. Don't know (or care) if it's bad or good. I have a blast using that fuel.

Take off the cross bars on the roof rack...

Not only does it cut wind noise dramatically it boosted my mpg about 2 mpg.

With my manual tranny I'm gettin' about 29-30 mpg.

I use a K & N drop in also...

The 470km translates to about 293 miles. And the 47L equals 11.75 gallons. The MPG is about 25. Is this normal for the car?
Thats really good, i would get around 255, but i drive like a bat out of hel sometimes. Now that i went turbo gas milage went out the freaking window. I just close my eyes now when i fill my car up cuz i'm using 93 octane.

I used to get around high 20s but when I put on the 17s it went down a little bit. I guess because the tires are softer. I wouldn't worry about anything around 25 mpg.

Over the last couple of months, I have been getting 34-35 mpg. It is a standard tranny and mostly rural roads and interstate driving but I can't see mid 20's being normal for this car.
How do you calculate the mileage.
your method maybe different.

I get ~25mpg in 1999 ES 50-50 city /hwy

which is right on target with the EPA 21-28mpg

Around 24-27 50/50 highway and town driving. No matter how much I step on it or how much I baby it, it always seems to stay the same. Much better than the Mustang. With the 4:10 gears and the fact that I am always on it I get like 14-16 in the Mustang. That is one of the reasons I got another car.

my pro5 is brand new and has 4453km on it. i usually get over 600km. last time i drove 533km when my fuel light came on and then i tanked up 45l ....so i had 10 liters left and thats good enough for a 100km more.
so roughly i get somewhere between 550 -650km, city and highway driving and i think thats pretty good.

but i do shift at around 3-3.5k rpm.

We've had our P5 for just over a year now and we have been keeping records since day one, well almost a complete record. Anyway, the average over the last year is 27 mpg. A couple of them are in the 37 mpg range. My last fill up today I had 610 km on my gauge. I've never had that high but then the tank was real empty, I put in 49 litres.

Personally I think the mileage has something to do with where you live. Here in Canada during winter I get poorer mileage since it does take a little longer to warm up in the morning or whenever it is parked plus the traction is not as good as in the summer months. Even so, during the winter months I was getting around 21-24 mpg and that was with winter tires.

This is what I like to see. As I said before, my MPG ranges from 22-32 depending on the driving situations. I usually drive my car hard and the milage suffers quite a bit. I am sure I can drive like a sissy and get in the mid 30's or better.......but I don't. I get respectful milage on the highway going 80+.

This is a topic that I am sure can get discussed for ever. Milage depends on the driver and how they drive. I am sure all of us could average 25+ in the city and 35+ on the highway. I think most of us here enjoy driving our cars 75% or higher in regards to their performance.

This is my $.02.

mileage

well i am getting 410 miles on a tank on a regular basis. this is using 93 or 94 octane. yes it is alot of highway milage but thats keeping a constant speed of 80 mph.

I think you are wasting money mp5smuggler. There is no need to run anything above 87 octane with the stock low compression specs of the 2.0. I can get 410 on a tank of regular gas going 80 on the highway.

I will save $2.50-$3.00 per 12.5 gallon fill-up with getting 33 MPG buying regular vs. super unleaded.

You can put what gas you want in your car. You might need the high octane for your nitrous system. How often are you pushing it?

Later.
