this is very disturbing to me about denying warrenty coverage. As you said paul the law states you must prove that the modification done to that car caused the failure. I have a cat back exhaust and intake on my car. I brought my car to the dealer because there was a short in my electrical system (fortuniatlly it was covered under warentee) but they gave me shit about my mods. Saying that I better hope nothing goes wrong with my motor or the likewise or it probably wont be covered. I Stated the law and he just smerked and laughed and said good luck. I was very disturbed by this and now very much doubt my warrentee. This makes me very skeptial of Mazda service and why the law was put in place if Mazda (and by the sounds of it most) Manufacticures disregard it. why why why

I myself, got yet another speeding ticket today for 20 over. I love my little Miata and I know how to use my right foot. *G* I can only imagine how much fun you guys have with your modified cars! Anyway, thank you again.

See, you do share the enthusiasm we all have.

I had a Miata for ten years until I came to the realization that it was no longer a practical car for me to have with three growing boys. But it was because of the fun I had with the Miata that I elected to stay in the Mazda family and bought a Protege5. I completely enjoy this car, but I find myself longing for some of the feel of the Miata that used to put a real smile on face. Its a shame that MNAO wants to penalize me for getting to the level that they gave me with the Miata.

Safe and happy miles to you and your Miata!!

Yes you have, lol. Those were some of the most entertaining posts you have ever made!!

To this day I'm not allowed on my local dealers lot......no official restraining order perse, just them asking me not to come around.

I seriously would never support mazda ever again if I could get away with it but out of all the import makers I think they have the best product....too bad their sales/service/dealers suck so much.

rktktpaul August-20th-2004 01:49 PM

"Uhh, there's that Mullis kid walking up and down the sidewalk again. Better get the boys from the service shop up here with the big wrenches . . ."

LMAO, Matty, I've got to come down there one of these days and go over to the dealer with you!!!

ooo ooo I wanna go to....maybe we can throw an MSP motor through the window like the old discount tire ads...

Roddimus Prime August-20th-2004 04:25 PM

I guess there's something intimidating about a 6'3" 260lb guy pacing the salesfloor with an aluminum baseball bat......I just don't see it I guess. I just wanted something in writting.....sometimes you have bust a few heads to get your warranty denial in writting!!

Also, I used to spend all day in the parking lot on weekends talking to customers and handing out feaux-business cards and explaining my story to everyone. I would sit there with a chair and a cooler from sun up to sun down....played the best games of tetris I've ever played in my life!

Molloy August-25th-2004 12:12 AM

Thats sounds crazy. What were they trying to deniy you of? Sounds like a good story is the orgional post still up?

Roddimus Prime August-25th-2004 07:50 AM

3200 miles, headgasket broke on my MSP and hydrolocked my motor slinging 2 rods through the block.

Their "verbal" disgnoses was that my tires had uneven tread wear which indicated to them that I had been spinning the tires....tire spinning is "ABUSE" and "ABUSE" isn't covered under Mazdas warranty.

They refused to put anything in writting that could be used in court. They knew they wouldn't stand a chance in court if they put that bullshit in writing. They also said that I removed my RESONATOR and welded in a straight pipe and THAT voided my powertrain warranty even though it is completely behind any and all emissions equipment and affectes performance in no way.....

I hate the dealership....I'd burn it to the ground and piss on the ashes if I thought I could get away with it.

Molloy August-27th-2004 11:12 PM

That has to be the most bullshit thing that mazda has said yet. I cant beleive that utter nonsence. Hopefully you take it to court and get them to fix you shit. Sorry to hear that

Roddimus Prime August-27th-2004 11:51 PM

Thats old news....it's almost a year later. I still stand firm though..."you get what you put in.....and dealers get what they deserve!!"

Somehow that song just fits!!

Molloy August-28th-2004 05:03 AM

so you never got shit from mazda?

Roddimus Prime August-28th-2004 10:54 AM

yeah, I gave up my $20K MSP and got a $20K P5 in return. I hate to say it but I'm much happier with the P5.

juddz August-28th-2004 04:53 PM

Matty, I would be bitter too.

I have not been back to the dealer since I bought my car 24,000 miles ago, except to buy a bottle of touch up paint. It takes me 15 minutes to do the oil in my own driveway, and it costs me around ten bucks versus having to make an appointment with my Mazda dealer and getting taken for thirty bucks each time. The only downside are those ten milk bottles filled with oil, sitting in my shed. I tell myself that at some point, I'll drive it down to the auto parts store for recycling... just not in my P5! Oil stains? No Way!!!
