Free keychains from Mazda with purchase of a Protege?

My manager at work recently bought a Protege 5 for his fiance, and we got to talking about our cars. I then showed him a keychain I got off of Ebay for my Mazda (It's solid brass, was only $10 but I think it looks nice) and he told me something the dealer never told me about.

Apparently, he said that Mazda gives you a free keychain when you purchase a Protege (or perhaps any Mazda product?). The keychain is some kind of metal keychain with a laser pointer, and apparently it took a couple of months for his fiance to get one from Mazda. I'm inclined to believe him because he's never told me a bold faced lie unless he was joking, but he seemed dead serious.

Has anyone heard of this mystery keychain? It's not like I'm going to camp by the mailbox for months for it, but I at least want to know if I'm supposed to actually get one!

Don't know about the laser pointer one. But the solid brass keychain you speak of can 'standard' on my keyless entry remote when I bought the vehicle.

I got a keychain too with one of my two keyless entry remotes when I got the car. I think the dealer's name might also be on it, but I haven't looked at it in a while. I know it has the big Mazda logo on it. No laser pointer however...

That's probably the one! How long after you got your Mazda did you get that in the mail?

Yea, I got the laser pointer after about 3 weeks, it was a piece though and broke after a couple weeks, wouldn't turn off so battery went dead. Hope car last longer than laser pointer =).

My dealer gave me the keychain but never give me the touch-up paint.

I have some scratches on my P5( caused by a female drive with an SUV backing up). I have to get those touch-up paint from the dealer and I was charged 4 dollars for it.

I eventually got the little welcome kit with the LED light keychain (it's not a laser pointer), but I never bothered with the touch-up paint. I love the little LED light thing though, it's great.

By the way, the touch-up paint didn't come with the kit. A survey did though, and you had to mail it in to get the free touch-up paint mailed to you.
