Question Fixing bullet hole in fog lamp

Anybody have any suggestions on how to fix/patch a bullet hole (Actually, I'm sure it was from a rock!!) in a fog lamp for an MP5?? I'm still looking for a replacement but in the mean time, would like to patch it up to keep the water out.

I can't help but if you find out anything let me know...
I had a rock, or possible a golf ball go through the fog light on my Sedan. Oddly enough it didn't smash the bulb or anything, just wrecked the glass (or plastic, or whatever it is).

how big is the hole? My first sugestion is fill it with clear silicone sealer. Im sure that the lamps dont get hot enough to damage the silicone.

The hole is about the size of a pinky finger, I was thinking about using clear silicone, but that same thought of the heat came to mind. Any other suggestions? Anybody have a stock fog lamp they want to sell me??
