First Time Mazda Owner

Hi guys, I've been a long time member of clubcivic.com but i recently bought a 00 Protege SE and I was looking for a new watering hole. I've got a million non-noob questions about these cars, because I havent had enough time to get into the Mazda scene.
I was a BIG Honda lover until eveythign went wrong on my hatch. So i decided to go mazda.
I've got to say, i love this car! it drives awesome, it feels awesome, and its just a pleasure! right now, my car is bone stock, but I am ordering clear lights, tinting my windows , and getting a 1.5" drop.

But AI havent seen many performance (engine) parts.... where would i go to get things like a header, hi-flo cat, or a dual exaust kit ....

Thanks for listinin to my speach/rant/plea for help

yay mazdaspeed!

welcome to the forum. There's a great group of people here and we'll be able to help you with just about anything you need.

I would recommend checking out www.protegegarage.com for most everything you need. If you're interested in some Brembo slotted and drilled brake rotors I'm ending a group buy right now but theres a few days left to jump in on it. (obviously there will be higher shipping charges to Canada). Also, heck the vendor section for parts for sale and specials.

you can also check-out www.corksport.com

they have several mods for our cars as well...although their customer service is no where near what protegegarage has...they do carry jdm parts.

Welcome to the club. You're not gonna find as much selection for the Mazda as with the Honda, but I love my Pro & wouldn't trade it for anything else right now (well, maybe an RX-8!).

Hey man, I think you did the right thing by switching over to something 100% better than the honda. I own an 03' ES and its the best 4cyl car I have ever driven. I have never liked Hondas or any Jap for that matter! But Mazda (merged with Ford in 00) is the closest thing I would drive to a Jap. It has the best handling and does great highway runs. Goodluck with your Pro and be safe.

this is 100% wrong. Make sure to know what you're talking about prior to posting something like this.

Ford owns a 30-ish% share of Mazda. Ford makes NO decisions on how mazda is run. Ford and Mazda have a partnership of designs Hence the Mazda B-series trucks and the Ford Escape. The protege is 98% Japanese manufactured. It's about as close to japanese as any car you'll get here in the states.
