This is a pretty interesting read.....but if you "revamp" the ECU to thinking like a MP3 ecu....does it advance the timing itself? Cuz I am new at that crap, honestly. I am what you would call a

No, it advances the ignition timing only. Which is still worth something.
And don't worry, I made the same mistake when I first bought mine.

But what is the benefit of revamping your stock ecu to think like an MP3 ecu instead of just purchasing a used Mp3 ecu....? Or is it just in case you cant find one? I'm telling you I'm a n00b, lol.

There were only 3500-ish MP3s imported and most of them are still on the road.
So the ECU is hard to find, and usually overpriced if you do find one.

you can't run E85....besides why would you want to? The car will get worse mileage and potentially less performance.

I've been doing a lot of homework on E85 and it's a joke. Even the manufacturers are now realizing it. That's why you won't see anymore GM commercials touting their E85 use.

Look for diesel to make a HUGE upswing in this country real soon. Honda / mazda / nissan / ford /etc are all releasing passenger car diesels by 2010 that will return 45mpg plus while still providing turbo-like torque and 300k mile lifespans.

The only advantage to E85 is that it requires very littleto modify a vehicle for it's use so it's cheaper for the manufcaturers to produce cars designed for it....but it's not a gain of any kind.

that's not how it works. The engines are totally different. But, to answer your question, YES I could flash it to the MSP specs if you wanted to add a hughboost turbo kit in the future with massive injectors...

honestly thinking about it, it wouldn't be worth it at all.....

On an FS-DE flashing to MSP spec for really crappy engine management for a basic turbo setup is worth it. I just bought an MSP ecu

9.1 air fuel ratio is so fun :P
