Fake Carbon Fiber...Rice? or Nice?
I have a friend planning to do his interier of his Titanium MSP 2003.5 and He wants it to look nice, but I think he may be F-ing it up thinking hes making it cool.
Ive seen a Bunch of beutifull Carbon Fiber Peices & I sugested he go that route.
However when checking out the DGMotorsports Kit, we heard there have been fitment issues. This is to be expected to some degree as itshand layed Carbon Fiber, but it scared off my friend and sent him to a new direction that I dont like.
He is about to order a 17 peice interier trim kit that is Fake carbon Fiber (The checkered paint patter)
I lauged and told him that would Rice out the ride, he said he didnt think so and that the Tuner world doesnt bash fake Carbon Fiber its looked as as "To each There Own"
At this point Im begging him to just paint the interier and not to get that Fake *** ricer kit.
What do you think???

i saw a thread like this on the other forum hehe, those guys like to give people some ****. dude, your friend should do whatever. CF in the interior isnt gonna make that big of a difference if all you're doing is a couple trim pieces here and there. you'd have to replace the entire dash with a race piece used in the tri-point cars to see any weight difference. so all its for is looks and not functionality, and the protege ES came with some fake CF crap on the radio bezel anyway so stickers arent gonna give him any less "props." keep us up to date if he/she makes a decision. please if you can, post some pics so we can oooh and aaaah at his interior. i just hope they dont go overboard and it looks cheezy, cuz that would be the definition of rice.

I see your point.
Personally I really dont like the fake CF (He wants to put it in a Blue MP3, The FULL 17 peice Kit from E-bay, all of it) it's because its something trying to LOOK like something its not.
I painted the trim how I like it, and I feel if you dont foot the Bill for the real, dont go to ebay to get the imitation.

I dunno, anything less than subtle is ricey to me. Fake carbon fiber? No big deal. The entire inside of our cars is plastic so how could it be worse?
It's not the fake carbon fiber, though, it's the 17-piece thing that scares me.
My philosophy is the only thing you can't overdo is HP.
