Everytime I get gas my p5 will not start
#16
Well, went to the dealer today. They said the purge solenoid valve is opening and closing correctly and the MAF sensor checks out alright. They did say there is a new procedure for adjusting the throttle body so they did that. They said if it does it next time I fill up with gas just bring it back and they will make some phone calls to see if they can figure out what the problem could be. So I got a little less than half a tank left which will be gone by the end of the week, so I'll just have to wait and see.

I broke my Purge Solenoid Valve installing my Injen, too. Just one plastic piece was snapped, and the hose still fit on right up to the piece. I don't think this is necessarily the problem. I am posting here because just tonight my car started up after a fill up, then the RPMs dropped really low, the engine rumbled, and I thought it was going to die...I filled up 12.5 gal of 89 octane fuel. Next time I will try letting the key sit in the 'ON' position...otherwise, any suggestions?

Well, I found the problem. I printed out this thread and took it to the mazda dealership. They looked at the purge solenoid valve and noticed they had the hoses hooked up backwards. Last time I filled up it did not stall. So I think it is fixed now. Thanks everyone for their help.

If anyone else has the backwards hose problem...look at your Purge Solenoid Valve. From the PSV going down, there are 2 hoses, a top and bottom. The top should go to the catch tank, and the bottom to the intake manifold. Just thought I'd share my findings.
