Engine Code?

Anybody know the name or code of a 99 protege 1.6? Would like to know cause I haven't really had any luck finding out what it is ??-ZE?

the 1.6L is the ZM-DE. Its also stamped on the block and on several other parts in the engine bay.

LOL it took me a lil while to find the damn engine number.... it was like hidden behind a cluster of wires...

that protegefaq doesn't have my engine listed...i have a 3rd gen 1.5l

therez a 1.5L>???

never knew that.. i always though it was 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0L...

3rd gen is 99 to 2003 right??

yeah, i know for sure that my engine capicity is 1.5 and it's definitely a 3rd gen.
I'll check the engine code later.
and they also come in 1.3...
