Question ebrake

How does the ebrake on the Protege work? Does it engage the regular rear brakes or is it a seperate system? As the rear pads wear out, does it affect the ebrake performance (more clicks to hold the car)? Thanks

Yes, the e-brake clamps the rear wheels, and no dont worry about the brakes wearing out. The brakes self adjust when they wear out, if they didnt your brake pedal would eventually hit the floor.
