Someone tried to pry off the handle on mine too! They didn't succeed, but they caused over $400 in damage! I think Mazda should improve the handles too!

If you drive around town with your system bumping, you're gonna get negative attention. That's my only reason for not being big into the whole automotive sound system craze.

Chances are the thieves knew you had a system previously (if they aren't the same guys that broke in originally) and they may have come around again because they are hoping you replaced the missing system with a new one.

It sucks..but if it is a re-occuring problem, consider putting in your stock head unit and just upgrade the speaker and maybe run a small amp...the subs etc should be 86'd until you can be sure your car won't be victimized. With a stock looking sytem you are less apt to be jacked.

I don't think door handles are necessarily what makes it easy. [B]The fact is that if they want your junk, they'll get it[B]. Be fortunate they didn't smash your windows to get in.

MikeD is right--if you get really secure door handles, then they just smash the windows. That's not really an improvement.

I bet you could pry any door handle on any kind of car, if you really wanted to. Like they said, if the door handles where indestructible, then they would find another weakness. If you have a $$$ sound system in your car, prepare for some jealous person to possibly steal it.

If you ever catch someone breaking into your car

Atleast you know the alrm worked
too bad you didn't have it when you had the system in it. but it's true. when someone really wants it , they will get it.

Amen brotha. This girl across the street from me won't turn her radio down when she comes home. She will actually leave the door open, stereo blaring while she goes and checks the mail, bring up the garbage can and all. I've been telling people I know hoping it gets jacked so I won't have to hear it anymore.

LOL, and if it happens, laugh at her, she deserves it!

nothing is going to keep theives out of anyone's car. if they want in they will get in. glass is easier to break then door handles, so if they didn't get in through the handles the door glass would be next.

Then Mazda should put some bulletproof glass on the Proteges.

leave expensive sound systems for use at home.
have the stock system in your car.
jacking up the sound too loud could be dangerous, cuase it lowers surrounding road awareness, especially not being able to hear like the sirens from a fire engine

listen to the music of the engine when u drive.
just a part of the pleasure of driving.

kill the bastard that bust into your car! no matter what crime all theives should be executed!

personally....if someone was going to bust into my car and jack some of my stuff...I would PREFER they bust out a window....glass is easy to replace....and it really leaves no other damage to your car.....however...if they are prying on your door...then you end up with bondo on it....repainted areas....its just not the same after you got to do repairs like that...but a piece of glass....not a biggie.....

as you may know...I had to have the windshield replaced about a month ago after the little "buzzard" incident. :{D

Either way it really blows that people can respect others property. People who can't work for their own **** really irritate me.

Lemme catch someone in my **** and I can guarantee a one way trip to a secluded and wooded area. I will put a thorough beating on that individual. 250 pounds of raging lunatic. I'd probably take his fingers to teach him a lesson.

Enough..before I I..............aaarrgh!!!!! HULK SMASH!!!

Of course, it doesn't help that you advertise your system on a website

well i nevered played it loud only on the freeway but my stytem wasnt all that loud to beging with stock speakers powered by a pioneer cd player and two sq subs but i guess they saw the aftermarket deck and decided to take a chance. Well i removed the pioneer this morning and put the stock back in so i hope it keeps them away for awhile cause i need to come up with $350 to replace the handle and get the lock cylinder re-keyed to fit my key i think they used a dent puller to pull the handle out ohwell at least i wond have to deal with my insurance as the deductable is $500 so im going to have the mazda dealer fix it later and becareful because an alarm wont keep jackasses from causing damage to you ride.
