Question Door Ding Home Repair?

Anyone know if it's possible to dismantle the driver's side door to get access to the outer sheet metal body panel? I have a single, major **** off door ding about 15cm below the driver's front door handle, closer to the edge of the door (on an otherwise perfect condition body, which is why this is so irritating). I live in a smaller town and haven't noted any paintless ding repair services in our phonebook, and I'm not interested in the cost/hassle of conventional 'putty over and then paint the entire door' routine. That's excessive for such a minor, albeit quite noticeable, ding. I wish I knew who the ******* was who hit me with their door-- After all the effort I make to protect my investment in this car and then some careless oaf damages it. Bastard(s).

Anyway, if I could just get clean access to the inside of the door I could brace the outside with a cloth covered block and carefully hammer out the ding-- It's small enough that I'm quite sure this would work fine, given reasonable access. I'm just not certain if the inner door frame is welded together or if it's capable of being dismantled with screws, etc..

It's an annoying enough problem that I'm willing to remove the entire door and work on it separetely if I have to-- Especially if I can save money on carefully doing it myself...

Thanks very much for your help, folks, if anyone happens to know!

I took the inside plastic shell off the door to get at the speaker. It looks like a serious pain in the *** to fully take the door apart. I would reccomend against it. Pop off the inner piece of plastic around the edges and look at the way the door is put together and you'll see what I mean. Why not just use a dent puller?

the door pnl comes off fairly easy. You have to reome the handle, and the 2 screws inside the handle, then all the little plastic screw things that hold the door pnl to the car. Be careful for the wires for the locks and windows, just don't pull them out of socket. Hope this helps
