Corksport Power Series Exhaust

I am thinking of ordering the CS Power Series exhaust system but I am wondering if this would be a worthy purchase considering it eliminates the second cat. I heard that this may cause backpressure which isnt good on a non turboed car. Is this true or would this be a good upgrade for me?

less backpressure you mean.

backpressure (or no backpressure) does NOT make power...It's exhaust gas velocity that makes (or breaks) power.

If it's any consolation I have a non turbo protege and I'm buying the CS exhaust.

I also have the CS exhaust and I like it. Better power gain from a header though. (and easier to install)

My next upgrade is going to be the Wagner shorty header. I wanna stay legal and don't feel like removing the first cat. There are a lot of people who like the OBX, though.

yeah, the two main choices are based on your emissions preference.

OBX - $230-ish, 4-1 polished stainless steel about 7-10whp (a LOT Of top end pull), removes pre-cat, throws CEL, requies MIL

Wagner SHorty - $285-ish, satinless (iirc), retains pre-cat, 7-10whp gain (more midrange), requires no other modification

oh yeah, and just so you know what you're getting into... removal of second cat, use of small resonator and canister muffler WILL result in a dramatic increase in noise. (and raspiness with the addition of a long-tube header)

forgot the ractive.....i thought it was identical to the froza/obx

Anarchistchiken put on his obx header, mam cat-less midpipe and magnaflow exhaust and it sounded almost identicle to my obx header and ms muffler. I didn't notice much noise difference at all.

the wagner header is a great piece. It's shown to make more on a dyno than the obx but only 2whp more. The wagner unit is also about $85 more. The reason people typically choose it is to keep emissions.
