cold engine noise fixed

If anyone cares, i had my cold engine noise warranty fix done. Apparently they just reprogramed the computer and shazzam! No more noise. Now if they could just get the alignment fixed properly.

Is it the cold-start emissions thing? I remember a post a while back that said you could just unplug some plug and it would stop the noise or something...

Hey Broich,

Was that the ECU/PCM thing? The engine rattles in cold temperatures and revs are around 2000 until the engine warms up 15 minutes later.

I took mine in last month but the programming doesn't work. Is there a new one?

Also, can you tell me where you got your Ractive intake and about how much it was?

Thanks!

Yeah, it was the "diesel" sounding noise when the engine was cold until it got up to temp. but mine never rev'd high like that. But all they did was reprogram apparently and the noise is gone.

The intake i got at the mazda "stealership". A few minor adjustments had to be made but it works good for a way cheaper cost.

I just got my car back from the dealer for that same problem, but i think the noise is STILL THERE. i want to ask you did they place a sticker next to the emission sticker?Cause that's what the TSB state they have to do. Thanks

Hey Broich, I think I saw you yesterday around 3:15-3:30 on Country hills...

A black P5, moonroof deflector, roof racks, and CPC decals (only the white lettering) on corner windows. Was that you? If so, you drove right past me as I turned off into Panorama. (Across from the Petro Canada / VHQ / Mc. Donalds...
