Hmm....the blue bulbs are available alot of places. You may want to try www.sylvania.com Im not positive they have apps for Proteges, but the do make alot. As for the carbon fiber trunk, correct me if I am wrong somebody, but isn't the decklid aluminum to begin with? So it may not be as benificial as you may think, IMO.

Lightbulb

you might want to check the legality of that first - you know a major structural element....

Hmm...good point. But theoretically, isn't CF suppose to be strong AND light?

No, their are no CF trunks for the protege. A custom one can be done for approx. $500

Agreed. Can't confirm that it's made of aluminum but it could be. Either way it's already pretty light.

And also - I can't imagine how a carbon fiber hood would be legal but not a trunk. I think most of the pressure on impact is absorbed by the frame surrounding the trunk lid anyway. Experiment:

Step 1 - Take a sledge hammer and beat your trunk lid with it.
Step 2 - Watch it collapse into an indistinguishable heap of metal.
Step 3 - Take a sledge hammer and beat the area surrounding your trunk lid.
Step 4 - Watch it dent.

You can be the first one to try it and tell us how it goes.
