is that? or can that? or what is that?

Hello, im a Pro5 newbie, just took delievery last night
2003 Laser Blue Mica. hope you guys can help me out.

The first thing I am planning to get are:
1. TEIN TypeSS.
2. Wheels 17x7 with 215/40/17
3. Axle back muffer.

Question:
1. Anyone know how hard to swap the struts on our Pro5's?
Can you direct me to a site that has pretty good details on
how to swap struts?
2. What offset are recommended for 17x7 with 215/40/17's?
3. What is the bolt pattern on the wheel? 114.3 x 5 lug?
4. Where to look for axle back mufflers? (dont want a fartcan).

Thanks, this will start me off real well.

the offset has to be +45 or higher or you will rub.
that is the correct bolt pattern.
i have no idea about the struts havent done this yet.

axle-back exhaust

the two that most members would probably suggest are either the Racing Beat or the MazdaSpeed. I personally ahve the mazda speed and i am very pleased with the quality and sound of it. it has a very deep rumble at idle which is not to noticable but sounds great and the at the RPM's of 3000-4500 has a nice sound to it. ppl says the racing beat is a lil quieter. but i am still saying MS all the way.

thank you!

guys, thanks for your info.

Cool, this means that I can use the wheels that I have
for my prelude (SSR integrals). fortunately I have on a
set of 205/45/17's and its a 45mm offset so it should fit
just fine. I've been eyeing a set of 57Pro (gramlites)
for the prelude a while, so this will be a perfect opportunity
to get those.

I checked out www.tein.co.jp Technical page and
they have a Mazda Familia Wagon-S (protoge5) instructions
on how to do the struts. Im sure you guys already know,
but the Pro5's are called Familia Wagon's. it looks like a
breeze to install.

How are the loweringspring on stock strut setup?
I ask this because the factory shocks are pretty stiff...
i bet the Tein S-tech'll work just fine. Eibach's are much
higher spring rate. Im going to need height adjustability
for the snow and no-snow weather so im going to get the
TEIN SS's.

edit: racingbeat axle backs...does the sedan and Pro5 share
the same axle back design? or are they car specific?
Where online would i look to find those axle backs? thanks!!

runner up

hey, first mod on the car... bland, but a car alarm system.
going on this morning. just a cheepo simple one, but
it'll do the trick just fine...

next up is tinted side and rear windows...hope to get that
done next week.

then TEIN's april? when it gets warmer outside.
then axle back may or june
then Wheels (i kinda like the factory wheels,,,just needs
better, wider tires and more agressive offset)....

Anyone done offset spacers from H&R? can you get by with
5mm spacers on the factory studs? I dont plan to do any
autox or road racing, etc. just normal driving around town
maybe some spontaneous sprited runs.
