If you are missing that black adapter piece you are pooched, b/c as far as I can tell, that's the only thing that will fit into the white power socket. I suggest you look on the floor for the missing piece. And check if your other light still has it. I bet the stupid dealer will charge you a million bucks for that damn thing.....

again, last night i looked at the bulb again. & if you refer to the picture posted by vivid

my bulb looks exactly like the bulb on the left, there is NO black adaptor on it stock. also the new replacement bulb i bough also has no bacl adaptor with it! this is my confusion. you guys are talkign about removing a black adaptor that doesn't exist on either my stock bulb or the new replacement one!

and, thanks for getting my back. i really didn't want to start anything, but didn't understand why i was told to RTFM on a matter that is not even covered in the FM! i was just a little pissed & surprized at the mod's reaction to my seamily innocent question.

cheers

The Black Adapter has to be on the stock bulb that was in the factory lens. If it wasn't did the lights actually work? I can't imagine the factory would change how the Low beam is connected.

nope, not there, the bulb, plugs diretly into the white plug, no adaptor visable!
and yes all the light are working, low beam (main running lights) high's & fogs.

now you see my dylema!!! am i missing something? i will take some pics at lunch time to show you guys, also i'll check the stock bulb & see what it has writen on it.

also, i might be important to add that this car was used, i bought it 3 months old!!!! the previous owner (a woman) got tendernitus in both wrists so bad, she could n't drive stick anymore, & with the MP5 haveng nice slightly heavy/tight stearing, she couldn't drive it, so she traded it in, for an auto toyota rav4. i bought if off my friend who's the sales manager of the toyota dealership, i got it for a steal, but now i'm thinking maybe she's changed the bulbs soem how?

cheers

I'm thinking someone has screwed with the lights, like maybe the car has been wrecked or something. Or someone has replaced the whole housing or switched out the factory wiring somewhere.

there's no way the raw bulb will just plug into the factory plug

**** i never even thought to run a car fax on the vehicle i presumed it was perfect seeing as it was less than 6 months old!
i'll take the bulb out & try to look for any writing ont he bulb, & also i'll ask the dealer to run a car/vehicle fax report on it, so i can see it's history!

name of bulb company?

i know what u mean. cause i bought nokya H7 low beam, but it doesn't fit in our MP5, the shape is different.

and i have a question, does anybody know how to tighten the spring that holds the bulb.
cause my left low beam is aiming higher than right side and it moves up and down while right side of bulb stays firmly.
do i need to compress spring thingy?

help me protege experts~

ok I am having similar problems, BUT I have awsome lights, Phillips blue vision.

So make long story short, there should be an adapter that I can pull off from the stock light bulbs right? I have not yet looked closely at it since I got it tonight and I am always working and have no time to see my car at daytime. But i do have tomorrow off so i might go take a closer look. As for the fog it is h3, and it is positive that it is right? I also have blue vision H3's as well and I'd kick someone in the nuts if I didn't realize it is not the right size.
oh btw i got 03 MP5
