Best feeling!!!! Micra Black mp5 related

hey guys, i just had the best compliment!!! i bought a Micra Black MP5 (used, it had 16k on it) anyway i was a little sceptical about owning a black car, my GF has a black civic, & my best friend a Black Civic SI, i know that they (or me in the case of my GF! LOL ) spend hours cleaning them. but i bought it anyway as when it's clean i think black is one of the nicest colors (just high maintainance)

well i've now got 22,000 miles on my MP5, & i'm a little **** about cleaning it, i actually enjoy washing and cleaning the car, it's kind of relaxing & very rewarding to look back on a shinny clean car. (anyone else feel this way?)

Anyway, my dad came over to visit, my family still lives in the UK, he's a long time (12 year) BMW owner, (currently drives a 2001 740i) well i picked him up from the airport & he told me that he didn't know i'd bought a BRAND NEW car, on the ride back to his hotel all he kept asking me, "what kind of car is this, again??" he couldn't believe that it was, A) used! & B) a Mazda. he asked me if Madza was owned by BMW, & related the build quality & finish to that of a car he was used to driving!!! this made me feel very happy!

everyday i'm reminded of the reason why i bought this car!

just thought i'd share,

cheers

Glad you enjoy your car! I got a Sunburst Yellow P5 so it gets dirty pretty quick too. I always avoid wet puddles as much as possible. Anyways yes it is nice to always look back and see a shiny "new" car again.

Btw, i think it's Mica Black not Micra.

Congrats on the great compliments; I know it makes ya feel good

I just bought a black Protege5 Sunday, 2002.5 model. It's my first black car; my last one was white. I agree the black looks awesome when clean.

My previous car was a US-made MX-6. While the build quality on it was very very high, I find the Protege absolutely perfect. I haven't been able to find a single thing that wasn't 100% right on it.

Good thing you don't mind constant cleaning!

My last car was a 97 Altima that was black. I will never ever ever again own a black car. Looks GREAT when clean, but shows rock chips, scratches and dirt worse than any other color. Man I was glad to get rid of that thing Compared to it, my red P5 looks clean even when it's covered in dirt/dust/bugs.

colors

if i had, had a choice, i would have gotten Silver, but black would have been my second choice anyways. I personally am not a fan of red cars, unless they wear a prancing horse on the hood!

cheers
