Attaching Front Mud Guards

Attaching Front Mud Guards
Okay, folks. The instructions provided with OEM front mud guards suck. It isn't clear how to install the dang things.
Anyway, it looks like you might have to remove the front sheet metal body panels on the car in order to access a couple of securing brackets that can't be removed with a standard phillips head screw driver. The brackets have a screw head, but it won't unscrew; it just spins and doesn't pull out. Has anyone verified this to be the case (as in, you DO have to remove the front body panels), or am I missing something?
Thanks for your tips!

Hmm, Weird
Hmm, I've tried unscrewing those plastic fasteners and they just spin around-- They don't pop up, so I can't get under them to pry anything out. I thought that *might* have been how it's done, but was perplexed when nothing happened upon trying to unscrew them. So, instead of them unscrewing, *I'm* getting screwed. Heheheh... Bad joke. Sorry.
I'll have to wait until this coming weekend to give this problem another try.
Thanks for the clarification, in any event!

Having fussed with my filter on my injen, ive taken off those plastic screws many times. When u unscrew those little bastards and they just start spinning (and they always do). simply pry off the WHOLE screw and plastic thing it screws into. . .or even when u have all of them unscrewed place a screwdriver between the plastic and the bumper and pry them apart (those plastic things might come flyin off though).
