I would be interested if the price was right(If you had a quarter for every time you'd hear that, eh!?!). Also, I'd be looking for some good gains. I'd like to see a 10-15hp increase while staying within the same or lower rev range. (My Pro's rev limiter kicks in before the fun is done, so if the peak is above 6000rpm it's not much good!)

I'd like to say...Considering Ontario's driveclean emmissions legislation, the idea of keeping the cat I do like. Also think about a 2 piece design, but not like a conventional 2 pc. What about the piece after the cat... 3 bolt flange and a 90-deg. bend included...giving a full-flowing exhaust with a cat back system. There was a post about enlarging the pipe after the 1st cat, I haven't found it yet (catching up on unread posts from while on vacation!)

Good luck, and keep us posted!

I was the one that wrote that original post. I built a cat forward for my car of 2.25" pipe. Only problem is, the part from the #2 cat to the connector under the engine would have to be welded on. The short elbow I built wouldn't be too hard to duplicate. In fact, I'm considering doing that as well. The problem with it is sourcing the flanges. I paid $45 for the 2 of them. Then by the time you weld up the pipe and put a bung on for the O2 sensor and weld on the mounts for the heat shields you're talking a bit of time invested. Also, you need to enlarge the opening out of the #1 cat or it probably won't do much.

I guess I got lucky in Canada, I have a single cat car
Does that mean my car isn't ULEV?(Ultra low emmissions vehical)

I assumed the Canadian cars where ULEV as Canada has gotten very sticky about emmissions lately, especially in Ontario.

A cat back system for a single cat car would be very simple and I could take care of it myself quite easily. I have a 2 1/4" system front to rear but the outlet of the converter is still stock.

Keep up the work on the header, I'd like to see the dyno-graphs when you get them done.

Just an update. I'm still waiting for the mandrel bends. Thought I'd have them by now. It will be a couple weeks before I'll get the flanges from the one place the muffler shop recommended. I'm going to try to see if I can get it done locally.

I am picking up the mandrel bends on Monday. I have the collector on the way from Summit (1 3/4" 4 pipe inlet to 3" outlet). Just need to get a couple flanges made and I'll start putting this thing together.
