Now that it's been a while since you all owned the Mazda Protege5s, any regrets or 2nd thoughts?

Last poster is right...

Yes I'm a bit disappointed by the engine....but look at the package : 16" wheels, low-profile tires, skirts, etc....Guess how much a Civic would cost with those ? Have you actually seen the tires on a Civic ? Lousy Firestones!!!!

Exactly! Anything that I think could be better would have cost me much more money. So I am perfectly happy with my Protegé5.

My only thoughts is that there needs to be more user support. Hopefully that will come with time! So far there's not a lot of info on mods & maintenance to do the car, but it has only been released for a short period of time.

With the existence of boards like this, that should all change in time.

If only I waited until the 0.0% financing.

Oh well, 5.9% isn't bad.

Wink for a second. . .

when i saw that the matrix was gonna be released a couple of months after i got my car and that you could have the option of getting a 180hp version (and probably comparable in price), kinda had me second guessing . . . . But its ugly and i love my p5

AFTER MARKET WILL COME!

Just wait, The aftermarket will come.
Hang in there, we just have to be patient

Check out srmotorsport.com They have some exhaust for the P5 and 2001 Pro Sedan's. They are not listed on thier site but if you look at the latest issue of Turbo Magazine they have pics in there. These guys work with the RX-7, they know how to build Turbo's! We might flood them with E-mail's to get them to make us a kit.

Well as our car gets broken in, it has gotten much faster and easier to drive. One thing that I am amazed at is that there are no real big issues with the pro. My tour had like 10 recalls by the time I bought it!

Talking Regrets??

What are those??

Seriously though, no regrets with my purchase. And I am (im)patiently awaiting neat after-market goodies...

Come on, Kenji, buy a car already!

I love my P5, and the more I drive it, the more I love it. Is it perfect? No. Is it as close to perfect as I was going to get for the money? Absolutely. Definitely the right choice for me.

damn north american cars.... if their was the 4WD 170HP PR5 i woulda jumped on it but no... they won't ship it here, but other than that i like my PR5, love the handling better than a civic which was more with less options, corolla HAHAHAAH yeah right, a corolla w/ ¾ the options is like 26K, sunfire/cavalier bah, focus yuck, matrix came too late, used maxima... hmm no warrenty but kicks ***.. when i test drove that car it was so sweet !! i fell in love the first second i started the car,

1 more thing, it would be better with a 6 spd tranny, revs too damn high going highway speeds
