I need an air flow sensor for a 99 1.6. The Mazduh dealer wants $385.60. Are there sensors for other cars that will work. I can't find an aftermarket replacement. Anyone have one they want to sell reasonably or know of a place to get one?

Why do you need a new sensor? If you bought a 99... I would assume it's still under warranty if something is wrong with the sensor.

 

The warranty has expired since the car was purchased in late 98. The sensor died with 26,000 miles on it. I disconnected the sensor so that the car would be somewhat driveable until I get a new one. The cat now smells as though its bad. Could a bad sensor cause the cat to go bad? Maybe running waaay too rich?To top it all off the battery light came on and now the car starts and then immediately stalls.

 

Ok guys, I saved myself some money! If you ever have a suspect air flow sensor take it out and clean up the little delicate sensor parts with a q-tip. There was a layer of black mucky stuff that was screwing with the readings. It now works like a charm!
