Across the pond.

Hello and greetings from bonny Scotland.

Just purchased a 323F sunlight silver alloys spoiler etc.Its a year 2000 and it is immaculate. One major problem,an underpowered 1350 engine.Tried with no avail to get a remap, but nobody in Scotland can do it,Any of you American cousins got any ideas to squeeze out some more horses?

Cheers Kenni.

can you get some pictures of your engine bay? We don't know first hand what the 1350 engine is but I'm guessing it's either a 1.8L or 2.0L There should be plenty of upgrades for you but sadlyt very few as far as the ecu mapping goes.

across the pond 2.

According to the vehicle reg document its a 323lxi 1324cc.16 valve. A smart looking little car but it needs more oomph!

hello kenni, i'm just in newcastle (uk)... a 1350 engine is a 1350cc engine or 1.4 litre.
i have 2 first generation gtx's (1.6 4x4 turbo). i just joined too. cat bypass would possably release a few horses.

cat bypass envolves a replacing the pipe that the cat is attatched to, although i don't know if it would make all that much differance to the 1400cc engines, maybe 10bhp. there are performance mods on ebay for the mazda's but i don't know much about them apart from it tricks the ecu into thinking the engine's running lean basically, and the ecu puts more fuel into it, they say +15-20 bhp, other options are a preformance air filter, fast road camshafts,

wow, 1.4L engines?? i don't think we'd have anything to help you out here...our smallest was a 1.5L from a LONG time ago. I'm sure they are totally different beasts.

If you could get me some pictures of your car and engine bay I'd appreciate it.

Hey small world, I'm from the UK too (Isle of Wight, a southern softie). But I moved to sunny Florida! I'm guessing there wasn't a market for a 2 litre 323, especially with the cost of petrol being 3 times as much in England. Sorry I can't give any advice on increasing the power. Just wanted to say hi, and how's the weather?! Muhahaaaa....
