I did read something similar to that in a different mag, but the reason was because people are never taught or shown the full application of ABS, people still treat their cars as if they dont have ABS installed, God my mom still cant get the consept of STOMP and steer.

esspecially on snow, she will pump the brakes, but then agai nshe has been driving for like 25 years now, before the ABS invention on mainstream cars.

Now I know BMW has a program for their drivers for like 600 dollasr they turn you loose on a track to learn to handle the car, I wish other companies had such a program. I would use it

Like many other things, you need to practice to get the full benefit of ABS. Unfortunately many people think they are born with the ability to drive well, and never test the limits of their cars. I personally welcome times of low traction (snow etc) so I can get reacquainted with the limits of my vehicles. Plus, it's fun!! Sucks not being able to do easy donuts though (have to use my RX-7 for that).

BTW, I bought my ES from the dealer lot without ABS, and I wish I had it. I can't pump the pedal as fast as the computer! I just make sure I give myself extra time/distance when conditions warrant.
