Unhappy 2003 Protege 5 New Trans

Hi all, I just registered. I have a 2003 protege 5 automatic with sport shift with 15,000 miles. I just had my trans replaced by dealer. Please advise if any one had their trans replaced?
Thanks

sorry to thread jack...but

SOON:
* Mazdaspeed camshafts and pistons

you want the j-spec cams and pistons. the j-spec cams are harder and the pistons are high compression.

i know shaneracing.com list them as "mazdaspeed"...but they're not. they're the parts out of the FS-ZE engine...which is the motor the put in the japanese p5's or "familia's"

you can also get the header and intake manifold...they claim with all of these parts you should run around 150-170 hp (to the crank)...but you'll probably need to have someone tune it for you.

do you know where i can get the j-spec cams and pistons b/c that would be great. and with those would my lifters and such be able to withstand a higher rpm? like 8000?

i don't think so...from what i've been told, you need flat-topped pistons if you're gonna use nitrous.

2003 new trans

After getting 15K service, car was making slight metal vibration. I brought the car back to the dealer and said noise was coming from trans and replaced with new trans under warranty. My wife drives the cars mostly, but she did not notice that car was driving funny b/4 15K service. But know after new trans she said car shifts smoother. Dealer said it is very rare that protege 5 trans are replaced mostly Protege speed. I was very surprised. My car had no mods.

Staying on topic, you could actually feel the vibration and noise? I'm thinking of buying one tonight, and would like to know what to check for.

My car was making a slight metallic vibrating sound when shifting from 1 to 2 gears. I still love the car. I think my son damaged trans when he was stuck on ice down my driveway and reving car for about 1/2 hour trying to get out. I would still buy the car. I paid 15K loaded with every option avail. Can't go wrong with that.
Plus 48 month/50k mile warranty comes in handy. Good luck.

Thanks

I picked it up last night. Silver '02 P5 with 19,000 miles. Seems like a fun little car for the wife.

I HAD BEEN HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS, EXCEPT RICART(WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR) KEPT TELLING ME THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. THEN YESTERDAY I LOST REVERSE. NOW IT IS IN THE SHOP AND I HAVE A S#!TTY A$$ SATURN SL2 RENTAL CAR ...THAT SATURN IS A PIECE! BUT THE RENTAL WAS FREE AND I HAVEN'T YET FIGURED OUT WHAT THE CAUSE WAS
