2003.5 protege5 features?

So...
I will be getting a new protege5 in the next few weeks (its en route to the dealer). I am assuming it is a 2003.5 model, as the dealer told me it included a subwoofer, which I think is a new standard feature. I can't find any information around the internet regarding this new update. Does anyone have any information about the 2003.5 model? (ie - what's different?) also, can I tell using the VIN that it is indeed a 2003.5 version?

Also, how big is said subwoofer? Does it take up a lot of trunk room?

thanks,
I'm really looking forward to getting my new p5.

Huh? a subwoofer???? i think you are mistaking it for the MSP not the P5, cause the P5 never ever came with a sub, unless the dealer puts it in for a fee or something like that, and btw, im not so sure about the 2003.5 models cause next year the P5 will be replaced with a newer model....

no, there IS a new subwoofer. it goes where the spare tire is. on the other board, they had pics of it. it's standard with the 6disc cd changer.

...well, I'm pretty sure I'm not getting the 6 disc CD player. The assumption I am operating under is that the subwoofer is now standard and the roof rack is now a $200 option. i'll hafta track down those pics of the subwoofer.

It goes on top of the spare tire, doesn't take any trunk space.

The sub is only 100Watts. Are you getting the roof rack as well? I guess it's the 03.5 that have the option of no roof rack (which the absence of the two side rails).

wow, I'd never heard about the sub in the 2003.5. Makes me wish I'd waited a couple more months to get one. They didn't offer an adjustable intermediate wiper speed did they?

Apparantly there is an easy swap for this. The wiper stock from a 2001+ MPV is direct swap and provides intermittent control. $79 @mazdaspeed.com.

huh? subwoofer? i got the 2003 protege5 about 3 weeks ago and there's no fancy speakers.
you have 4 speakers and 2 tweeters. the 2003 has new alloy wheels ,different looking headlights, different cupholders, a leather wrapped shifter and some different interior decorations but that's all.
the sound is ok but there's not too much base. i really dont mind as all the stuff i listen to is either techno or dance.

There is post with a pic of the sub somewhere at www.protege5.com , I looked for it but I couldn't find it, perhaps you can give it a try or ask there.

I actually preferred the stock wheels for the 2002 Pro5 (like GOBLUES). The currents wheels aren't bad... unlike the new 15" on the sedans... those are hideous!
