2002 Protegé Brochure
I received a 2002 Pro brochure a few weeks ago, just haven't had time to post info about it..
Interesting? The MP3 is displayed in Silver in the very back, as it is on their web site. Will they be changing skins on this silent monster?
deFacto. The ES doesn't appear to wear the 2.0 banner any more. I guess since there's no distinction from last years model, they decided to remove the 2.0 sticker.
style. Remember, this is a Standard Protegé brochure, no mp3's or pro5's featured in this book. BUT, the pro interior pictured has a 3-spoke steering wheel! Hmm... In that same pic, I also noticed more silver interior. The plastic part around the power window buttons is silver. The center console around the shifter is silver from just below the brake handle up to and including the lid for the cup holders.
Lights.. same fog lights, same tail lights, same headlights, including the yellow on the corners. I was under the impression the headlights would go the way of the Pro5's, obviously this isn't the case.
Badging? There's something about the "Protegé" badge on the rear of the car. It looks different.
Not much has changed, I think I'll keep mine this year

yup, saw one at my dealership and it's the exact same thing as 2001 except that it's got a few extra features inside. The inside is nicer, but other then that it's the same ol' Protege which is good actually

the 2002 protege sedan is quite a bit different. the basic body style is the same, but they made SOME upgrade across the board. the 2.0 engine is standard on all models, including the dx. that being the case, there is no need for the 2.0 designation on the side. the interior is now the exact same as the pro5's. and yes, the rear protege badge looks like the pro5's without the "5".

So far from what I've heard, these are the changes:
-2.0 engine standard across the line
-3-spoke steering wheel from Protegé5 used across the line
-Revised silver accents on ES interior
-"Protegé" badge on rear of car the same font as the one used on the back of the Protegé5, minus the 5

Also, right above the license plate, the horizontal piece where the keyhole for the trunk is, is now reflective rather than body colour.
Side mirrors are now body colour in the same way the P5s are. (In Canada, the 2001 model only had black mirrors and no option of getting body coloured side mirrors for any trim).
