Hi everyone, I am planning to get a 2002 protege LX with AT by next month with their special 0% financing.

I am in SF bay area now and just got a few quotes from nearby dealers. They are ranging from 13,800 to 14,800 dollars (car+destination charge only). I went to a couple of the dealers last weekend and test drove a couple. The problem I have is that they do not have the exact model I desire. One dealer even told me that I could not find a simple LX+AT in this area, everyone of them are equipped with this or that options (never heard about such statement when purchasing my civic a few months back). Therefore, in order to get the model I need, I will have to pay at least a few hundreds more for the options attached to it. So, does anyone have the similar experiences when getting your car? And how much should I pay for a LX+AT only?

BTW, I paid over a thousand below invoice for my civic. Can I get the same or better deal on the Proteges? Thanks for your attention.

 

Cars Direct. I will be getting mine there. I will take the rebate and use my own financing because it is cheaper for me.
