100 000kms
100 000kms
Well I'm getting really close to the 100 000 km (60 000 mi) mark. Man do I have a list of stuff to do...
Timing belt, plugs and wires, change engine oil, tranny fluid, flush coolant, rotate tires, check the rear brakes (they make a humming noise on initial braking), fuel filter, PCV valve, O2 sensor, injector flush and clean throttle body(plus reset idle in necessary)...am I missing anything?
These are things I'd do to any car once it hits 100 000 km. And the clutch will probably come due about another 20 000 kms!
I can't actually believe how involved the timing belt actually is. I've never done a timing belt on a Japanese engine before, but my T-bird Turbocoupe, Mustang (actually '82 Capri 4-cyl) and my Escort (actually a water pump re & re on a Lynx) were really easy.
The Pro seems a bit more involved. I have a Haynes manual to guide me (always helps to have some literature along).
Do, or should, I replace any tensioner parts or are the F-motors usually pretty good for not getting too sloppy with age? The car only has 100 000 kms (60 000 mi).
