1.6l, I have a question....
Been driving my car for over a week now and I have a question regarding shifting. I usually shift at around 4000-45000 rpm, is this ok? the red line starts at like 6500rpm and I've heard that this engnes are meant to be revved high, even over 5000rpm.
The car's only got 650km.
Also, is it ok to drive around traffic in 1st gear? like really slow, 10-15km/h.

my engine holds righ revs like a champ, i have had it for over a year, and red line it everyday all day long, i almost never shift 5th. the 1.6 is a strong little engine, no power down low, but when it gets going its a beast lol.
High revs are definitely ok for the 1.6...
Just keep in mind if you want maximum life out of your engine you should only drive it hard well AFTER the car has reached operating temps.. NO cold zoom-zooming or you'll see lotsa oil burning down the road, thats one of the worst things you can do.. Keep the clearances nice and tight in the engine.
