Thumbs up Modifying my '03 Protege ES

My girlfriend and I just recently bought her a new 2003 Protege ES. She is extemely happy with it because it drives well and looks sporty and it isn't too big. I am happy, on the other hand, because I have a new toy to play with. I have already installed APC Euro Tail Lights, and I am planning on many other cool performance mods. I am up for suggestions as to what I should do next to make her car look and perform better. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey man, seeing as how you have 36 views and 0 replies, I thought I should lend you a hand. For performance and appearance mods, check out these cool sites:

Cork Sport
Mazda Stuff
Spool Turbo
AWR Racing

There ya man, those are just a few. I'm pretty sure there's more, just can't think of any.

My 2 cents...get a K&N or Reactive air filter. Also you might want to invest in some locking lug nuts.

Just bought a 2003 ES Manual Transmission myself, I was considering a set of those nifty Alteeza taillights, but some people said they leak

Thanks for your suggestions regarding my Blue ES. Any additional info would help! "Wesleeptheylive" thanks for the info about your ES. Now, I guess I just have to save up the money and make some decesions. I will keep all of you updated on the status of my car. Peace Out!

hello FigUK9, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to our Club. There are TWO BIG fridge'S in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have.

make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

as for mods....figure out what YOU like, and of course the wife...and just DO IT! the only person that truely needs to be satisfied with how it looks, sounds, performs is YOU.....just keep that in mind and you can't go wrong.

One of the relativley cheap things you can do is invest in some lowing springs. The ride height of the Protege is kinda high, especially since it's on 17's, so a couple of inches will make all the difference and it's only around 100 for a good set

I agree with springs if you want both looks and performance. However you may need to replace your struts earlier than normal if you don't upgrade your struts at the same time. Enjoy!
