Wow, it was a cinch to install. Took me about 20 minutes and I didn't even jack the car up. I do recommend that you use some WD-40 on the bolts though and some silicone spray for the hangers. Makes the job that much easier.

Sound, much louder than I expected. Sounds like the Comptech exhaust my friend had on his Type R. Very very deep. It's pretty loud inside the car too. This is by far the loudest exhaust I've owned on any of my cars (Del Sol and Miata). It sounds great though. Glad it doesn't sound like a can of pissed off bees or anything raspy like I have a hole in my muffler. Looks good too. I'll try and take pics when this darn rain storm lets up.

Man I'm confused which exhaust to get...some people say it sounds great, some people say it's way too loud at crusing speed.....would someone just give me an answer???

Guess I'll just have to take the plunge and see....$200 for the Mazdaspeed is alot better then the $700 they want for the Skunk2 system....

Sweet!

Ya hurricane, i would just go for it and get it, my radio is stock and completely drown's out the sound of the exhaust so its not really all that bad. Ive had mine on for a few thousand miles and have had no problems. I took a trip 8-9hrs going from 70-85mph the whole way and it never bothered me. So if i was in your shoes i would get it cause itll be the cheapest thing you can find thats great quality....

Sport Exhaust

Hey...

It was worst in my case finding a place to get one and get it shipped outside continental US (Puerto Rico my case).

I found two places in US over the internet that ship them to PR:

www.mazdastuff.com
www.mazdaformance.com

Mazdaformance shipping to Puerto Rico was $120 and Mazdastuff ---> $52.

I believe Mazdastuff is in Texas and regular shipping to any state in US is $28.

You can contact Richard there.

Pro5 Sport Exhaust $195.00; That sport exhaust is in stock, and shipping to San Juan costs $52.

Mazdaspeed Exhaust.

Ok, is the exhaust you are talking about a cat or axle back system or is it just the muffler itself? Have you noticed any increases in performance? Also where can I get it for 200.00 bucks? Would I be able to hear the exhaust with the radio (stock) on full blast? Sorry about all the questons, but I hear so many different things that it makes it difficult to believe any of it. Any information that you could drop my way would be able to help.

Thanks.

for the looks....

I wanted it for the looks, for the deep sound, and to keep the first mods with genuine parts (will not give performance at all). You want perfomance as well as looks, you will need a complete pipe system and with a greater diameter for better flow.

This MazdaSpeed Muffler I ordered(Genuine Mazda Sport Exhaust) is designed for the Protege5 only I believe (by Racing Beat), cause' the P5 is shorter than the sedans and mp3, so if you try to put an MP3 or sedan designed exhaust, you will have like 6 inches of tail out the rear.

I still dont have it, I expect it on wednesday.
I still anyway have a few couple of sound clips other users here recorded, inside and outside the car of this exhaust.
But, remember, recorders will not capture real real sound, but may give you an idea. Just throw me your email and I can link them to you.

The MazdaSpeed Exhaust is actually made by Bosal (South Africa), so i beleive that the tip is the only part that is a Mazdaspeed product. Here are some more pics of my setup.

G3 exhaust system.

Thanks for the info guys, but how much is the mazdaspeed exhaust in Messenjah's pics going to cost me? (by the way Messenjah, nice pics!) Also, does anyone know if it will fit the 2001 ES Pro? Oh and one more thing, does anyone know of a company or distributor here on the eastcoast who has some decent prices?
