Power steering fluid...manual not specific.
Brake fluid..................manual not specific.
Automatic fluid............manual not specific.
Antifreeze...................manual not specific.

Every dealer I talk to says something different.

Any recommendations for fluids.

but if you have a sedan (not sure about the P5) the haynes manual blows. It cover 1990-2000 protege's. Most of the info is for first gen protege's and 323's. While the principles are mostly the same almost none of the pictures match and as is many times the case 3rd gens lack or have additional parts than are in the guide.

They really needed to update the manual for '99 - '02+ sedans instead of trying to pass it for 1-3rd gen pro's. If you really want a manual get the official mazda shop manual for your car. It's not cheap at like $150 (last time i checked) but it will be a guaranteed teardown and rebuild of your exact car.

Gen III probably won't have a manual for a a year or two after the model line retirement. My contour didn't get a manual until 2001 and it had been made for 5 years before that.

automatic fluid and manual lube every 2 years/30,000 miles
This is like oil changes, it's open to a whole lot of debate. I've had people tell me that the fluid should only be flushed (ATX anyway) When the fluid's discolored, I"ve also seen that manufactures recomend anywhere from 15k-50k for ATX fluid chnages.
MTX varies wildly also, I've been told that you shouldn't ever have to change that fluid!! However, 2 years/30,000 sounds reasonable and should be ok.

are you talking about a haynes manual or shop manual. The shop manual should be out at the cars release so the dealer mechanics know what they are doing.

I'm talkign about the Haynes. The shop manual is around $150. A good price if you are going to do a lot of your own work, Sometimes the shop manuals aren't as easy to read adn udnerstand as the haynes (personal experience though I'm not too mechanically minded)
