using non-pro aftermarket parts

i was talking to a friend last night (integra owner) who said that i can use any aftermarket parts on my pro (eg. exhaust, intake) as long as it fits my car. i have a hard time believing that buying a honda exahust/ intake will fit into my pro5 (not to mention that it has never been tested on a pro either).

what do you guys think? is this something you can do safely or is my friend stupid?

nope i wouldn't really say your friend is stupid. the intake is just a pipe for freeer airflow so if it fits, then it works. same goes with the cat back exhaust. if it fits then it works. the question is how do you know what parts fit.............

Of course you can use them IF those parts DO FIT into your pro but I think it's quite rare to find suitable parts which are not ment to your car.
Even though I customed my clear side markers from Ford Escort

And it's also true that some parts from previous pros may fit.

On some Honda's the exhaust comes out of the right side. 92-95 Civics and Del Sols for instance. You can use a part if it fits, but most of the time, it will require some modification. Most cat backs are simply just custom bent piping welded to a universal muffler. Save your cash and just buy a universal muffler from the manufacurer you're interested in, i.e. Greddy, DC, HKS, etc. and have it welded in place.
